NFL analytics, built to be checked.
Football Dashboards measures how good NFL teams and players actually are, separates that from what their records and box scores say, and publishes the numbers where you can test them.
What we measure
Three numbers do most of the work on the site, and they are deliberately different things:
- FDER, our opponent-adjusted efficiency rating, describes how well a team has played on a per-play basis, all three phases, after accounting for who it played.
- FD Power Rating is team strength in points, the number you would put on a neutral field.
- FD Line is the per-game spread published on This Week before kickoff. Every published line is stamped and never edited afterwards, so its record against the closing line is public and can't be quietly revised.
Every stat on the site is defined in plain English in the Glossary.
Where the numbers come from
Play-by-play, player and roster data come from nflverse, the open NFL data project, including charting by FTN Data (CC-BY-SA 4.0). The models built on top of that data, and the analysis written about it, are our own. Team and player data refresh twice a day during the season.
Free and Pro
Team pages, player pages, the Draft Board, depth charts, League Pulse and This Week with the published FD Line are free and stay free. Pro adds the advanced dashboards, the weekly matchup tools, history and exports. Every Pro page shows a free preview first.
